THIS IS A SEMI-PRIVATE FACILITY

Rusnock Sports Performance & Fitness (RSP&F) will provide specialized personal training for the serious athlete and the individual trying to attain serious long term health. With semiprivate, or small group training, this training guarantees an athlete – to – coach ratio of no more than 9:1 and 3:1.

All of our PT clients will receive individualized programs based on the results of an initial one-on-one assessment, as well as regular progress checks. We will still provide one on one personal training, plus small group fitness classes with group ratios of 6:1 and 9:1. With these ratios athletes and clients will get the latest in world class coaching and training.

TRAINING PROGRAMS

Our training programs will last 50 minutes to 1 hour and have a different daily training emphasis. Each workout focuses on improving the clients ability to become more mobile, stable, powerful, stronger and more efficient in their ability to move while reducing susceptibility to injury. Each participant follows a progressive exercise routine (progressively more challenging once basic techniques have been mastered) with a strong focus on basic and correct technique. During each session, we focus on the following:

1) Warm-Up

  • Soft Tissue Work (Foam Rolling a.k.a self massage)
  • Mobility and Flexibility
  • Muscle activation and dynamic flexibility
  • Balance and stabilization
  • Nervous system activation

2) Prehab

  • Corrective exercises to help fix imbalances and reduce the chance of injury

3) Core

  • Exercises designed to strengthen and support the spine to enhance force transfer from the lower body to the upper body and vice versa.

4) Movement Skill Development (for sport performance programs)

  • Acceleration and deceleration techniques
  • Linear and lateral movement mechanics

5) Explosive Power

  • Medicine Ball work
  • Jump Training
  • Olympic lifting techniques

6) Strength Training

  • Functional strength training

7) Conditioning

  • Linear and lateral conditioning
  • Sport Specific Energy System Development

8) Nutrition Education

  • Meal guidelines/supplement advice

  • I am writing to congratulate Chris Rusnock on the opening of his new gym. I would highly recommend Chris as a personal trainer for any potential athlete or anyone simply wanting to get into the best shape they possibly can. My daughter, Olivia Gumbita, was the varsity softball pitcher for Latrobe High School. Chris was her personal trainer leading into her senior year. What a difference training with Chris made! Latrobe won their division and made the playoffs. Olivia also played travel softball with the Pittsburgh Power Gold and traveled to Florida and Georgia to play. She was eventually offered academic/athletic scholarships to various colleges. She chose Division II Gannon University. I truly feel Chris prepared her for the conditioning required to play any sport and be the best you can be. She felt good about herself and this training also prepared her mentally.   • Approximately 3 years ago I decided I wanted to do something for myself now that my children were off to college. I wanted to be “healthy and fit” as I was approaching 50!!!
